Rain Is Not god Crying

When my nephew asked me what rain was I realized I didn’t fully know, but I do now…

Water vapor evaporates and rises in warm air parcels.
Heated water molecules move faster changing from a liquid phase to a gas phase

As the air rises it cools.
The temperature decreases 5 degrees for every 1,000 feet.

The cooling vapor condenses on small particles.
Water molecules slow down, leaving gas phase, returning to liquid phase.
This water forms droplets that increase in size, falling as raindrops
