Tom Waits always makes me think of Milano’s on the Lower East Side.  A dark hovel, open late, with a jukebox in the back playing this kind of stuff.  Debauchery.

    Tom Waits was also really good in the Robert Altman movie “Short Cuts.” NPR has a whole live concert you can grab as well.

    Someone actually edited together all of the Tom Waits and Lily Tomlin clips from Shortcuts! It’s on Youtube (part 1, anyway) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O05oZwq5Wyc. The best Tom Waits movie, though, is, as everyone knows, Down By Law.
