More Cool Stuff From MIT Media Lab
MIT Media Lab presented wearable computers at TED last week.
Everything is starting to have a chip in it anyway, but for this to work absolutely everything will need a chip. The idea is you’ll be able to gather information from practically every surface, and save it without needing a handheld.
For example, when you need to know what time it is you simply draw a circle on your wrist with your finger and the time appears. Or, when making a phone call you draw a rectangle on your palm, and digits appear, allowing you to make the call.
Also, you’ll be able to take photos of anything by framing the shot with your hands, which can then be thrown up on a wall and edited, like with MS Surface.
I hope these guys aren’t getting my hopes up. I want this to happen, and I want it soon. Imagine information at your fingertips, literally at every moment. So liberating.
