Can Aviary Replace Photoshop?

2009 July 6

Now that Aviary lets you do dead-simple screen-grabs that you can edit in your browser, I’d say in a lot of situations, yeah.

All you do is add:

AVIARY.COM/

before the URL of  a page you want to grab, and it opens up in the Aviary app where you can edit ‘in the cloud’.

Here’s an example from:    aviary.com/www.LoveTheCool.net

As you can see the Aviary toolbar is similar to Photoshop, with a lot of the same capabilities, and with a more advanced tool box option deeper in the site.

So because most my editing specs are for the web these days, Aviary can replace Photoshop about 80% of the time, for me.
