PERFECTLY usable TweetUP Invite
2009 September 4
I have been going to networking events like crazy the past couple of months,
and although I avoided it like bugs in the beginning,
it’s totally upped my game professionally and
made me feel more part of my field.
So now I’m throwing my own networking event, a fashion TweetUP.
Because I am passionate about design and process usability,
(probably sounds lame, but whatever)
we spent time making sure the invite is informative, a value add, and on-brand.
In a nutshell:
the best usability advice I can give is even if what you’re offering doesn’t add value, don’t subtract value by making the user have to work for information and become frustrated in the process.

Very cool (not lame) and I completely agree that so many people assume or presume that others will immediately see all relevant information “easily” which often isn’t the case. Ending results are lack of participation, enthusiasm and most importantly “attendance.”
This is awesome. Usability 101. So going to use this as an example, if that okay
Thanks!
