Where The Wild Things Are

2009 October 22

Heartbreaking, even for an adult.

I saw Spike Jonze‘s Where The Wild Things Are last night and I have been haunted by it all day.

The little boy’s place in the broken family, his fear of abandonment, his escape, change and his eventual acceptance was surrealistically delivered by director Spike Jonze, who took 100% advantage of every creative medium available.

Animation

Music

This is one of those movies that changes you inside; it raises the bar for this genre and film making in general.

I am grateful that it was made.

I too saw this movie and was so pleased that it was created. I have been waiting for this movie for over a year and was NOT disappointed. I am excited to share it with friends and get their opinions. Although we are not friends, I see that you share my feelings that this is a movie that changed the course of my thoughts. So few things can do that.
