Still Holding Out For MySpace

2010 February 11
by Michelle McCormack

After reading about the shakeup over at MySpace with the ‘ousting of CEO Owen Van Natta by News Corp. Chief Digital Officer JonMiller, I still enthusiastically maintain that MySpace is on the verge of making a huge comeback.

WHY?
Because MySpace is still where music lives.  It is remains the default network for musicians. Every single musician that is promoting digitally has a MySpace page.   And in this regard none of the others networks can compete.

SOLUTION?
MySpace needs to prioritize and fix their HUGE usability issues before rolling out any new features.

If MySpace would just get over their collective personality disorder and create a clean, intelligent user experience, followed by the integration of innovative features, that make brand sense, they would, in very little time, regain their old standing of most successful social media network on the planet.
