If it’s this easy to break Twitter, then we’re all screwed

At 1:50pm I checked into a client’s Twitter page and found they had zero followers/following. Cringing, I rushed over to my page and found this:
By 2pm I was back up to my 6,000+ follower count, but I’m left feeling how insane it is to count so much on Twitter for my business.
6,000+ followers gives me a certain amount of ‘social currency’, but the fact that it can be zero’d so quickly makes me want to look for more stable ways to demonstrate my value to clients.
