We finally watched The September Issue last night. Anna Wintour is like the unapproachable captain of a huge vessel, who, if you’re a passenger, you don’t want interrupted.

While Grace Coddington is the Cruise Director, much more approachable, keeping all the humans inspired and happy, and yet just as necessary for survival.

The September issue is a hafta-have for anyone running a business. Loved it.

Nick Knight’s been driving innovation in fashion on the web for years, now – pretty impressive considering most fashion players are only now just feeling the heat to contribute, share and engage in this space.

This week, his SHOWstudio has been live streaming 100 Portraits for I-D magazine.

100 portraits of celebrities and models will be taken by Knight and streamed all day long. It’s a fascinating process with stops and breaks, inspiration and ending.

I have personally worked on lots of these types of shoots and it’s gratifying to know other will see how boring it can be at times, too, you know, the waiting.

It’s not make believe, like we feel when consuming the final product, but a real life experience with highs and lows.

Elia Kazan’s movie about the meteoric rise of a political pundit, Andy Griffith, seems to foreshadow the culture of loudmouthed liars we see today in real life characters like, G—n B–ks (not writing his full name ’cause I’d hate anyone searching him to hit my site)

On a way cooler note, I met Elia Kazan, right before he died, at his place on Long Island. I was crew on the Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Legends shoot. That was cool.
