Not just software hacking of existing music platforms, but mechanical hacking, too, with tables set up for workshops in creating DIY transistors, Atari Punk Console and depending on your skill level, what ever you wanted.

And they had some serious panelists discussing the future of music and distribution, including the guys who started Last.fm, Rock Band, SoundCloud and more:

The weekend ended with the software hack presentations, my favorite being Cara Peckens‘ re-architecture of MySpace (I don’t know her, but after this I think we’re soul mates). The truth is, MySpace is still hugely relevant since almost every single band on the planet lives there, but it’s also a case study in un-usability and confusion.

Cara’s 2 minute deck offers a solution that’s simply practical and, I confirmed, implementable!
